About

Hi, my name is Tim and I'm the creator of this website.

One day I decided to make an online game (actually, it took weeks). My wife had been hooked on playing a ridiculous online game called Clicking Bad and I wanted to make a game that she would enjoy just as much! That's ambitious, but here's the thing, I'd been a Software Developer for five years and I'd never tried to program a game or make such an interactive website...challenge accepted!

The game is based on the Countdown Numbers Round, which you can find out more about on Wikipedia. The main differences between this game and the original are...

  • The game is fully multiplayer (the only limit to the number of players in a game is the memory available on the server).
  • The numbers are generated randomly (two large, four small) and the players have no control over the numbers.
  • The time limit for a round is adjustable to allow the players to control the difficulty level.
  • The scoring and ranking of players is completely different.
  • The players do not need to do any mental arithmetic (although it does help).

It costs me quite a lot to keep this thing online so if you're able to support me that would be super dope!

Now for the nerdy stuff... The game is written in C# .NET using Server-side Blazor and is running on a Microsoft Azure Server.
